Register Here First Responder Course, First Responder Recertification
When an emergency happens, the first few minutes can make a significant difference. Knowing how to assess a patient, control life-threatening bleeding, manage an airway, and provide basic life support can give you the skills and confidence to respond when they’re needed most.
Provincial First Aid is offering an upcoming Canadian Red Cross First Responder course in Kamloops this November, designed for professional first responders and anyone looking to build advanced emergency response skills.
First Responder training goes beyond basic first aid. The course provides comprehensive, hands-on training in the assessment and management of medical and traumatic emergencies.
Participants learn how to recognize and respond to a wide range of situations, including:
Patient assessment and emergency response
Airway management and respiratory emergencies
CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS)
Severe bleeding and hemorrhage control
Shock and circulatory emergencies
Musculoskeletal and traumatic injuries
Head, spinal, chest, abdominal and pelvic injuries
Acute and chronic illnesses
Poisoning and environmental emergencies
Pregnancy, labour and delivery
Multiple-casualty incidents
Patient movement, lifting and extrication
Crisis intervention
The course combines hands-on skills practice, demonstrations, discussions and realistic scenarios, allowing participants to put what they learn into practice.
