What You'll Learn

This program is for emergency responders who have responsibility for setting up emergency scene traffic control as a regular or occasional part of their work. It will be valuable for a variety of first responders in fire and emergency services roles. The program is designed with the safety of first responders operating at an emergency scene.  The course will also be useful for member in a supervisory role to ensure the safety of their team.

The program can be offered as a Train the Trainer course or as an enrollment-based course.  Class size is dependant on which program is selected.

  • Unit 1 – Legal Guidelines and Responsibilities
  • Unit2 – Scene Equipment
  • Unit 3 – Setting Up the Scene
  • Unit 4 – Directing Traffic Safety
  • Unit 5 – Review and Exam
  • Practical application in on-road situation

This program is Office of the Fire Commissioner Playbook compliant, and certification is issued by the British Columbia Municipal Safety Association.
