Industry Overview

Program Objectives:

  • Hazard Recognition: Identify risks like kickback, falling branches, and unstable trees.
  • Proper Use: Learn safe starting, holding, and cutting techniques.
  • PPE: Understand the importance and correct use of chaps, helmets, gloves, and hearing/eye protection.
  • Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot chainsaws for safe operation.
  • Cutting Techniques: Practice safe limbing, bucking, and pruning methods.
  • Emergency Response: Prepare for injuries, equipment issues, and environmental hazards.
  • Compliance: Follow legal and industry safety standards.

The program also emphasizes risk awareness, including danger tree assessment, stored energy, and escape route planning.
