Operating a chainsaw may look simple, but it’s one of the most dangerous tools used in forestry, utility maintenance, and wildfire response. At Provincial Fire & Safety, our Chainsaw Operations Training course teaches workers how to handle chainsaws safely, confidently, and in compliance with WorkSafeBC and industry safety standards.
Every year, thousands of chainsaw-related injuries occur due to improper handling or lack of training. Our course ensures workers have the skills and confidence to prevent accidents and protect themselves and their team.
In our Chainsaw Operations Training course, participants learn to:
Recognize and assess jobsite hazards
Use safe cutting, limbing, and bucking techniques
Maintain and inspect chainsaws before and after use
Select and wear the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Respond effectively in emergency situations
Our hands-on approach helps workers develop practical, real-world safety habits that last.
This course combines classroom theory, live demonstrations, and hands-on fieldwork. Training is aligned with BC Forest Safety Council and WorkSafeBC requirements to ensure full compliance.
