This update is required for Instructor Trainers, Instructors, and licensed First Responders (FR) and Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) in British Columbia who are currently practicing or teaching under the new Emergency Medical Assistant Licensing Board (EMALB) scope of practice.
Our blended learning program is designed to meet the educational requirements outlined in the updated FR and EMR scope of practice and has been fully approved by the EMALB. Upon successful completion, participants will be eligible for the EMALB authorization required to practice at the new scope level.
Online learning: Approx. 8 hours
In-class skills: 16 hours
Online modules must be completed before attending the in-class portion.
Learners are required to download and submit their online certificate (printed or emailed) to their Training Partner/Instructor prior to the classroom session.
Proof of valid FR or EMR certification must be shown before class begins.
